At this year’s E3, GameSpot took players on a high-octane journey through the cosmos with its Base Station activation. Inspired by the imagination of Andrew Rae, this outdoor experience brought the GameSpot brand to life in an unforgettable way with custom illustrations and iconic branding.
Featuring competitive gameplay aboard our massive esports truck (equipped with seven-game stations), fans were able to watch some of their favorite gamers and influencers play popular titles like Apex Legends, Overwatch and Dragon Ball FighterZ. They even had the opportunity to compete against other players and a few of our friends from WWE’s The New Day in a head-to-head tournament.
But the fun doesn't stop there! The GameSpot Base Station also featured exclusive giveaways, celebrity meet n’ greets and other immersive experiences—including a Fuel House inspired photo op and loot-box presented by Jack In The Box. Not only did this custom sponsor activation let fans step into the world of Jack’s latest series streaming on GameSpot.com, but it also connected them to their favorite fast-food brand in an authentic way. Needless to say, the GameSpot Base Station was a huge success!
